Thursday night,
Rusted Root performed!
~ playing with digital zoom ~
There were hula hoopers everywhere
some with electric hoops!

~ one of many cool pictures ~

The kids did great and fell asleep in the wagons,
so the mommas had time to browse some arts and crafts.

rekindle

evening spent slowly
gossiping about parks and
rec with my partner

always makes me laugh
and blush and raise an eyebrow
and wish for more time

our time together
is not "never a dull moment"
but a moment well spent

I have so much love
for my "Partner in Spirit"
sparks burst from the coals

Peace,
Carrie

wip wednesday - wintuk the puppy

This lovely stuff
is 31 years young.

~ if we get a dog, should i name her wintuk? ~

I say young,
since it is my mama's unfinished WiP
when I was just a baby.

She started a crochet bedspread,
very simple granny squares.

~ did they have dye lots back then? ~

It is a wounded bird, an abandoned puppy
left in her attic until she forgot
how to double crochet.

Did I mention that it is
only double crochet?
I believe there is enough yarn
so this is what I'm hoping to make
instead - The Sunny Spread.

What do you think?

Peace,
Carrie

clearing the air

This year is record-setting for pollen.
The oak trees are going crazy!
Hope that means more acorns in the Autumn!

~ table in our foyer ~

So when we got a clearing rain
a few days ago,
we just had to go out into it and celebrate.

~ rain faery lela ~

A beautiful stormy sunset was our gift
for staying out past bedtime.

Peace,
Carrie

easter visit - part 2

Sunday afternoon, the family
met at Grana's for the egg hunt!

~ the farm house c. 1920 ~

This little corner of the front yard
is famous for yielding eggs
from previous years.

~ liv and lela ~

With over 250 egg to hide,
you have to get creative!

Easter Visit - Part 1

We went north to Virginia
to visit family for Easter.

The weather was perfect
for adventuring outdoors.

~ liv, lela and gran ~

Lela had a special time
walking with Pop in the woods.
They saw a large black snake
and a flying squirrel!
Wish I had a picture of that!

~ redbud we gave my parents in 2003 ~

There was lots of time
to play with Kitty.

Don't these two look
like the twins now?

~ lela and liv with kitty ~

~ easter baskets on sunday morning ~

This time with white eyelet
and rosebud ribbon.

~ liv ~

~ laurel ~

The girls all wore matching
bonnets and dresses,
a gift from Gran and Pop.

Next up - Egg Hunt!

Peace,
Carrie
