Monday we left Lorraine and George's beach house to set off for 3 days of just our family. We stayed in a little motel right on the water. Monday it was raining heavily so we (and every other family in the Outer Banks) decided that the aquarium was a good idea. It was crowded but the girls had a great time.

It makes me so sad to see animals in captivity. Though I have to say that this was a fairly large and very nice enclosure. There were natural play items for the two otters and they had places to go where they couldn't be seen.

When we went back outside, the weather had cleared and we quickly escaped the crowds to the little nature trail.

Luckily that afternoon it cleared out and we played on the beach and flew the kite. Brother Wind was blowing our entire visit, and we sure appreciated it!
